Madeleine Edmunds grew up with the sport of rowing in her family, and in year eight switched to it from netball and never looked back. Outside of rowing she loves to cook and play with her dog Lulu and is studying a Batchelor of Business while also working as a Digital Marketing and Customer Experience Manager for boat builder, WinTech. Edmunds enjoyed a successful junior career, taking silver at the 2009 Junior World Championships and gold at the 2012 U23 World Championships. She broke through onto the senior international podium, taking medals at all three 2013 World Cups as part of the women’s quad scull.
In 2016 Edmunds competed in the Women’s Quadruple Sculls and represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Post-Rio, Edmunds joined the Hancock Prospecting Women’s National Training Centre in Penrith, and in 2017 was selected, alongside Olympia Aldersey, to race in the Women’s Double Scull at World Rowing Cups 2 and 3 and the World Rowing Championships. The duo went on to win bronze at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. In 2018, Edmunds was selected into the Women’s Single Scull for the World Rowing Cups 2 and 3.
