Rowing SA Academy Program
We’re excited to launch the Rowing SA Academy, a program dedicated to identifying, supporting, and developing talented U19 and U21 able and para-rowers across South Australia. Our mission is to nurture young athletes’ potential, providing them with the resources, guidance, and training to excel in their rowing journey. Perfect Balance Rowing (one of Rowing SA’s dedicated partners) shares the same values of this program and have jumped on board to sponsor the program. We are excited to go on the journey together.
The Academy provides a structured pathway for emerging athletes onto existing SASI and Rowing Australia Performance Pathways. Talent identification will be a core focus to transition athletes along the pathway to the 2028 and 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This program will focus on developing technical skills, building competitive resilience, and fostering personal growth. Selected athletes (maximum of 8) will have access to high-quality coaching, equipment, and a structured training environment to help them achieve their rowing goals.
We encourage all eligible rowers to apply and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to develop and grow with Rowing SA.
We are thrilled to announce that Brenton Terrell, a seasoned rowing coach with a wealth of experience and a history of successful results, has been appointed as the Lead Coach for the Rowing SA Academy Program. Brenton brings extensive knowledge and passion for rowing, having developed numerous athletes to reach their full potential across multiple levels.
As Lead Coach, Brenton will play a key role in identifying, supporting, and developing talented U19 and U21 rowers, helping them achieve excellence both on and off the water. His expertise and commitment will be instrumental in guiding the Academy Program to new heights.
