Tasmanian Georgia Nesbitt is coached at Huon RC by Paul Newbon but in 2016 she relocated to Penrith to join the Hancock Prospecting Women's National Training Centre, in Penrith, New South Wales, where she is under the guidance of Women's Head Coach, John Keogh and his senior coaches Tom Westgarth and Ellen Randell. Nesbitt had a successful 2014, winning bronze at World Rowing Cup 1 in Sydney alongside Tasmanian Ella Flecker and then claiming bronze in the World Rowing U23 Championships in Varese with Georgia Miansarow in the same boat class. In 2015, Georgia was selected to row in the Senior A Women's Lightweight Single Scull at the 2015 World Rowing Championships. In 2016, she also rowed the same boat at the Non-Olympic World Championships. The Law student's favourite place to row is unsurprisingly, Lake Barrington in Tasmania and in 2017, she was named in the Lightweight Women's Quad alongside Georgia Miansarow, Alice Arch and Amy James for World Rowing Cups 2 and 3. She went on to win gold at World Rowing Cup 3 and then silver at the 2017 World Rowing Championships in the boat class. In 2018, Nesbitt was selected to compete in the Lightweight Women's Quadruple Scull at World Cups 2 and 3.
