South Australian rowing continues to punch above its weight on the world stage, with Adelaide University Boat Club’s Oliver “Ollie” Evans-Wood named in Australia’s Senior Team for the 2026 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland — the final World Cup test before the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam.
Evans-Wood, a SASI pathway athlete, joined a strong South Australian contingent in the Australian squad at Lucerne, including Alex Hill OAM and Angus Dawson (Gold, Men’s Pair), Ella Bramwell (Silver, Women’s Eight), and fellow Adelaide University BC scullers Oscar McGuinness and Nick Blackman (Men’s Double Sculls). Australia finished third on the overall medal tally at the regatta with nine medals from eleven medal races.
The selection caps a stellar season for Evans-Wood, who claimed four gold medals — in the Open Men’s Single, Double, Quad and Eight — at the 2026 South Australian Rowing Championships.
Rowing SA congratulates Ollie and every South Australian athlete who represented the state on the Australian Team in 2026. Their success reflects the strength of our club and SASI pathway programs.
