Matt Ryan has been part of the Australian Rowing Team from a young age, competing int he World Rowing Junior Championships back in 2002 and being a regular fixture in various age categories as the New South Welshman worked his way through the sweep categories. Ryan teamed with Francis Hegerty, James Marburg and Cameron McKenzie-McHarg to win a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, while also competing in the Australian Men's Eight that finished in sixth place at London 2012.
Ryan, who is based down in Melbourne, Victoria where he is the Rowing Master for Wesley College and returned to the Australian Rowing Team in 2015 for the first time since 2012.
