Maia Simmonds

Western Australian rower Maia Simmonds competed at her first World Championships in 2011 in Beld, Slovenia. As part of the women’s lightweight quad scull she finished sixth. Simmonds competed at the 2012 and 2013 World Championships but it was in 2014 that she broke through for a podium finish, taking silver with the lightweight quad scull.

Simmonds graduated from University of WA in Law/Science. When she is not training and competing she also coaches rowing and competes in marathons and half-ironmen.
