Hannah Vermeersch made her international debut at the 2009 Junior World Championships, winning gold as part of the women’s four. Competing with a new crew the following year, Vermeersch took home bronze from the Junior World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic.
In 2012, Vermeersch was part of the women’s eight that won the Olympic Qualification Regatta, qualifying for the London Olympics where they placed sixth.
2013 was a big year for Vermeersch. She won World Cup gold and placed fifth at the World Championships as part of the women’s eight as well as taking silver in the women’s four at the Lucerne World Cup and gold in the women’s four at the U23 World Championships.
In 2018, the West Australian, after taking some time away from the sport to finish her degree in Health and Physical Education, was selected into the Hancock Prospecting Women's National Training Centre and also as a reserve for the World Rowing Cups. Vermeersch has named 'Rewrite the Stars' from The Greatest Showman as her favourite song currently.
