Tasmania’s Ella Flecker started rowing at high school in 2001 and made her international debut in 2009 at the U23 World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic where she won bronze in the women’s lightweight quad scull. At her first senior World Championships in 2011 in Bled, Slovenia, she finished sixth in the lightweight quad scull. Competing in the lightweight double scull in 2014, Flecker won two World Cup medals and narrowly missed the podium in the World Championships - finishing fifth with Alice McNamara.
