2021 AMRC COVID Update

Good Morning All

As you may be aware there has been COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria.

It is your responsibility to check and continue to check the updating public health advice, monitor updating travel protocols and respond to those updates.

Detail on the SA border restriction and position on Victorians can be found here: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/conditions/infectious+diseases/covid-19/testing+and+tracing/contact+tracing/contact+tracing

General SA public health advice can be found here: https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connect/public+content/sa+health+internet/conditions/infectious+diseases/covid-19/covid-19.

If you have been in Greater Melbourne in the last 14 days you must get a COVID-19 test and isolate (and not visit the venue) until you have a negative result.

If you have been at one of the tier 1 or tier 2 exposure locations you will not be permitted to enter South Australia

We will allow some flexibility in terms of crew changes and late entries as we are aware there has been significant disruption to crews. Crew changes because of COVID rules will not count as part of the 50% crew change rule. Don’t feel obliged to withdraw crews now if you think there may be a chance that the crew may be able to be reformed.

We will be running the 2021 AMRC as planned, as such there will be no change to race schedules. We are not able to delay the start of racing nor will we reschedule races.

The racing program may change due to withdrawals, but we will not change the timing of scheduled races (I.e. races will be cancelled, the program will not be compressed as a result).

The 2021 AMRC is not being run under COVID-19 Management Plan as we have an attendance of under 1000 people. We are running to a detailed COVID-19 Safe Plan as required by SA Health.

This afternoon’s briefing will be recorded and available online following the briefing for those competitors that are not able to go to the venue today.

Crew Changes and Withdrawals are available online until late this afternoon.

Please continue to monitor the event website and social media channels so we can provide updates, where possible, through these avenues.

Kind Regards,

Event and Competition Manager | Rowing Australia
