Please find attached and below information for the Murray Bridge Regatta.
Following recent communication with the Murray Bridge Council and Murray Bridge Boat Club, it has been requested that the Murray Bridge Regatta on Saturday 30 January 2021 be run using a COVID Safe Plan. This means that spectators will be excluded from attending the event. Permitted people including coaches, support staff, volunteers and Boat Race Officials, will all need to collect a wrist band upon arrival so they can remain on site. Coaches and athletes must be registered and entered on Rowing Manager, additional coaches, support staff and essential staff must be registered via the surveymonkey link which will be distributed on Wednesday.
The uncertain timeline over a decision from SA Health on our COVID Management Plan 5-days prior to the event, requesting greater numbers of people in attendance was the main factor in this decision. In addition, the excessive resourcing and logistics of fencing for a large site where other businesses operate from was challenging to negotiate at short notice, with no decision as yet by SA Health.
The Murray Bridge Boat Club will be selling refreshments and catering from their new Rowing Centre and we encourage you to support the Club on the day.
We thank you in advance for your attendance and expected compliance. A letter detailing specific compliance matters at Rowing SA regattas will come to you this week.
Entry and Withdrawal Timelines
A reminder that Penalty Free Withdrawals close at 9:00am Wednesday morning.
Course, Venue, and Site Changes
There have been significant changes to the site as a result of the redevelopment of Sturt Reserve and the Murray Bridge Regional Rowing Centre.
There are some areas that will no longer be able to be utilised for boat/trailer storage and tents, and there will be some areas that will remain fenced off in the short term.
We will attempt to provide an updated site map in advance of the regatta.
Please also note that the course has been realigned and surveyed. The finish line will be in front of the new facility. Please see the map attached and ensure that your athletes and coaches are aware of the change.
3 Mile Handicap 8+ Race
The state handicaps are currently being compiled for the 3 Mile 8+ Race. They will be available from Wednesday afternoon.
Masters Handicaps (4x/+ and 4-/+)
We are working to implement the revised handicapping recommendations for Masters Quad and Four races where coxed and coxless boats will compete against each other. Please review the handicaps for these events with the release of the final draw on Wednesday.
Catering and Refreshments
The event will be fully catered by the Murray Bridge Rowing Club on site from their new facility.
We look forward to seeing you on the weekend.
