Dear Schools and Clubs,
Following the Premier’s announcement this afternoon and a subsequent meeting with the Minister for Sport, I can confirm that rowing training and competitions have been temporarily cancelled, effective from midnight tonight. This means no rowing training or competition allowable until further notice.
Restrictions – from midnight tonight (16 November 2020)
- The State Government forecast the new restrictions will be in place for 2 weeks, however this may change
- Sport competitions (indoor and outdoor) have been temporarily cancelled
- Sport training (indoor and outdoor) have been temporarily cancelled
- Community gyms are to be closed
- I am not sure as yet if School gyms can still operate or not, however Schools are not able to train on public waterways
Rowing SA regattas and events in 2020 – updated
- 4.8km State Team Time Trial, West Lakes: Saturday 21 November 2020 – CANCELLED
- West Lakes Regatta: Saturday 21 November 2020 – CANCELLED
- School Premiership Series Regatta #1, West Lakes: Saturday 28 November 2020 – TBC
- Riverland Regatta, Berri: Saturday/Sunday 5/6 December 2020 – As schedule at this stage (COVID Management Plan still pending)
- State Team 5km Ergo Test: Monday 14 December 2020 – As schedule at this stage
- 4.8km State Team Time Trial, West Lakes: Thursday 17 December 2020 – As schedule at this stage
- State Team small boat race and seat racing, West Lakes: Saturday 19 – Tuesday 22 December 2020 – As schedule at this stage
As these restrictions have only been announced this afternoon, I will endeavor to provide you with further updates once the Directions have been updated.
