While our Australian representative athletes are enjoying a well deserved break both overseas and at home with family, it is a good time to reflect on their success over the past season. The culmination of the European Summer rowing season ends in the World Championships – arguably the most prestigious event to gain a title (behind the Olympics, of course). This year our athletes did not disappoint with hard racing in very competitive boat classes. We love a close race – even better when Aus comes away with a medal!
Our South Australian athletes who competed at the World Championships 2018 are:
Alexander Hill (Reinhold Batschi Men’s National Training Centre/Adelaide RC/SASI Graduate) – GOLD in the Men’s Four
Molly Goodman (Hancock Prospecting Women’s National Training Centre/Adelaide RC/SASI Graduate) – SILVER in the Women’s Four
Jed Altschwager (Torrens Rowing Club/SASI) – SILVER in the PR3 Men’s Pair
Nathan Bowden (Reinhold Batschi Men’s National Training Centre/Sydney RC/SASI Graduate) – Men’s Eight (Reserve) – 3rd in the Men’s Spare Race (1x)
Olympia Aldersey (Hancock Prospecting Women’s National Training Centre/Adelaide RC/SASI Graduate) – 7th overall in the Women’s Quadruple Scull

We hope all of our South Australian athletes are enjoying their time off. 655 days to go until Tokyo 2020…. not that we’re counting!
